My anglo/celtic/nordic ancestors arrived in Australia, uninvited, a few hundred years ago. They brought with them many things, including long-standing colonial practices and histories of violence, oppression, displacement and harm. I intend to cultivate capacity and ways of being increasingly response-able to these legacies of harm. I intend on being a different kind of ancestor for those coming.

I acknowledge and pay respect to global Indigenous peoples. I acknowledge and am deeply grateful to Mayi-Yapi Aboriginal people and the tribal groups of the Mayibic Gulf whose country held, comforted, sustained and enlivened me in my early years. I offer gratitude and respect to Turrbal, Yuggera, Yugambeh & Quandamooka peoples, whose homelands sustain and nurture me now.
